Madeleine Power (she/her pronouns) is a qualified social worker and teacher with a passion for supporting children and young people to be who they truly are. She has over 15 years' experience working with children and young people in a variety of roles including: Youth Development Worker at a local council, Primary School Teacher, Case Manager with 'high-risk' teenagers, Counsellor, Social Worker in an alternative education setting, and Youth Residential Care Worker.
Within these roles, Madeleine estimates she has now worked with close to 100 trans and gender diverse young people and their families - as a teacher and counsellor, and as a facilitator of social, support and action groups for LGBTIQ+ young people aged 10-25. She has also facilitated social/support groups for parents of trans and gender diverse young people.
Madeleine offers professional development webinars on different topics to share the wisdom of the amazing young people she has worked with, and the understandings she has come to by virtue of working with these young people.

The number of young people identifying as trans or gender diverse has risen exponentially in recent years.
